SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster ski and snowboard teams had 21 student-athletes recognized with Academic All-American honors by the U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association. The 21 athletes named are more than any other school in the association. Eight of the 21 were named to the first team, matching Sierra Nevada as the most in that department.

SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster men’s snowboard team recently competed at the United States Collegiate Skiing and Snowboarding National Championships, qualifying in the first year of the program. The Griffins placed third as a team in the final combined standing with 18 points. Abram Greenspan was the leading individual in the overall standings with a 13th place finish. Greenspan received 78 points for his performance over the four events.

WINTER PARK, Colo. – The Westminster women’s alpine ski team came away with the USCSA National Championship in the first year of the program. Westminster won both the Giant Slalom and the Slalom team events to take the team championship with two points. Sierra Nevada placed second with four points. Kendall Brown of Westminster won the individual National Championship with a combined score of 27.90. Wiktoria Glowczynski was fourth overall and Melissa Gill finished 11th.

WINTER PARK, Colo. – The Westminster men’s alpine ski team came away with a second place finish in the Giant Slalom at the USCSA National Championships on Thursday afternoon. Westminster put together a combined time of 3:57.11 and trailed only the 3:56.26 time of Sierra Nevada.
