OAKLAND, Calif. – The Westminster women's soccer began their season ending five-game road swing with a 5-1 against Mills College on Friday evening. Westminster scored the game's first three goals, two coming in the first half, to help them take a second consecutive win and push their unbeaten streak to three. The Griffins are now 6-7-1 on the season and 2-5 away from home.
Tanisia Wilson put the Griffins on the board in the 30th minute with the first of her two goals in the game.
Lisa Johnson made it 2-0 when she found the net in the 41st minute. That 2-0 lead carried through the halftime break and into the 54th minute when
Heather Hillam made it 3-0 for the Griffins. Jasmine Abele put Mills on the board with her goal in the 59th minute. Wilson struck again in the 75th minute and
Rachel Watson made it 5-1 two minutes later.
Hillam led the Westminster 21 shot attack with six of her own. The Griffins put 14 of their 21 shots of frame to just three shots on goal by the opposition. Johnson added an assist to give her a three point night and
Sarah Swenson recorded two assists.
Dayna Winter-Nolte picked up the win between the pipes, making two saves during her 59 minutes of action.
Lindsay Bekken played the final 31 minutes, allowing one goal.
Westminster continues the trip to Oakland when they face Holy Names on Sunday, October 18.
