Four Griffins Receive Postseason Accolades

Spencer Luczak was one of four Griffins to be named All-Conference.
SALT LAKE CITY – The 2009 Unaffiliated Conference All-Conference Team was announced on Wednesday and Westminster placed four players on the squad. The Griffins were represented by Dennis Sellis, Daniel Duke, Val Campbell, and Spencer Luczak. Mark Heath-Preston of Bellevue University was named the Player of the Year and his coach, Matt Briggs, was named the Coach of the Year.

Sellis, a sophomore from Salt Lake City, led the Griffins with eight goals and 21 points this season. Sellis also led Westminster with 52 shots and put 31 of those attempts of target.

Duke, a senior from Sandy, Utah, anchored the Westminster defense in 2009 and played in 18 games during his final year. Duke recorded three assists and took 16 shots while playing a team-high 1,640 minutes.

Campbell, a senior from Salt Lake City, started 17 games in goal this season and posted a 1.39 goals against average. Campbell made 82 saves with a .774 save percentage in posting an 8-7-2 record.

Luczak, a junior from Salt Lake City, played in 16 games and made 15 starts this season. He finished fifth on the team with nine points thanks to four goals and one assist. Luczak scored the game winning goal against Kansas Wesleyan on September 6.
