SALT LAKE CITY – The Rock Mountain Lacrosse League announced the All-Conference teams for 2009 on Thursday and Westminster had nine players on the list. Westminster placed four players on the First Team All-RMLC and three more on the Second Team. The nine honored players led the way for all teams.
Zach Kessler was named the 2009 Defensive Player of the Year.
Kessler also made the First Team at defense, and was joined on the First Team by Ben Wright, short stick;
Beau Stine, face-off; and
Dallas McLellan, goalie. Lance Nielsen was the face-off specialist on the Second Team.
Ron Eichelberger, long stick, and
Kurt Fuhriman, defense also made the Second Team.
Kevin Gee and
Josh Condas were each named to the Third Team as attackers.
Westminster is getting ready to defend their 2008 MCLA National Championship. They open the 2009 tournament on Thursday, May 12 at 1:00 p.m. against Missouri State. The game will be played on an outer field at Dick's Sporting Goods Park with the winner facing St. Thomas in the quarterfinals.
