Griffins Complete Sweep at Rocky Mountain Invitational

RED LODGE, Mont. - Westminster College swept both the men's and women's team events Sunday at the Rocky Mountain College Invitational ski racing meet at Red Lodge Mountain.

RMC's men and women both finished second in the Grand Teton Conference event, which featured slalom racing on Saturday and Sunday. Westminster also took both team titles on Saturday.

Westminster claimed the top two individual spots in the men's race with Marc Perathoner, who was second Saturday, winning in a two-run time of 1:25.29. Fellow Griffin Lorentz Gadds-Dahl was second in 1:25.31.

Rocky's O.J. Oliver was third in 1:26.47. RMC's Robert Hillyer was eighth in 1:35.27 and Tyler Chandler 11th in 1:42.71. Oliver, a freshman from Salt Lake City, was first Saturday.

In the final men's standings, Westminster had 258.81 points, followed by RMC with 360.71, Montana State 365.91, Weber State 412.78 and Montana 498.06.

Westminster swept the top three women's spots with Kendall Brown, Parrine Voisin Chappaz and Melissa Gill going 1-2-3. Brown finished in 1:29.90 to sweep both days of competition.

Isa Floden was Rocky's top finisher, placing fourth with a time of 1:35.51. Other top RMC finishers were: Mandi Loucks in 7th, 1:41.25; Jade Peterson 8th, 1:41.30; Megan Thees 9th, 1:42.07; and Brittany Anderson 11th, 1:43.10.

Westminster's women finished with a team score of 274.18, followed by Rocky with 298.83, Montana 370.22, Montana State 421.05 and Weber State 454.89.
