SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster women's volleyball team has signed two recruits for the 2010 season head coach Kim Norman announced today. Andrea Christensen and Katelyn Vance have each signed a Frontier Conference Letter of Intent to join the Griffins in the fall of 2010.
Christensen, a 5-10 outside hitter from Richfield, will come to Westminster from Richfield High School where she led the team to a 29-4 overall record and a third-place finish at the 2009 state tournament. She was named First Team All-State by The Salt Lake Tribune in 2008 and 2009 as well as by the Deseret Morning News in 2009. Christensen was selected a Utah Volleyball Coaches Association All-Star her senior season while hitting .272 with 100 digs. She also earned a varsity letter in basketball, track, and softball on won a total of four state championships during her high school career.
Vance, a 5-11 middle blocker from West Valley City, prepped at Alta High School where she helped the team qualify for the state tournament in the tough 5A. Although she spends time at middle, Vance has played several positions throughout her career and is a four-time varsity letter winner and is also on the Alta High School Honor Roll.
