Three More Sign with Westminster

SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster women's soccer team has signed three more players for the 2010 season. Bettina Oesch, Lorin Wathen, and Brianna Wilson have each signed a Frontier Conference letter of intent to join Westminster for the 2010 season head coach Tony LeBlanc announced today. With the addition of these three recruits, Westminster has now signed five players for the upcoming season.

Oesch will join the Griffins from Jordan High School in Sandy, Utah. The 5-9 forward scored 10 goals during her prep career while adding 10 assists. A four-year letter winner in soccer, Oesch also received two varsity letters in track. She was second team all-region as a senior and was named Academic All-State.

Wathen comes to Westminster from Fullerton, California where she prepped at Troy High School. The 5-5 midfielder helped her team to an 18-1-4 record during her senior season and finished the year with one goal and one assist. Wathen was a team captain as a senior and was named All-League and All-CIF. Along with winning the CIF championship, Wathen was named a Scholar Athlete in 2009.

Wilson is from Fountain Valley, California where she preps at Fountain Valley High School. As a 5-8 midfielder, Wilson helped her team to a 7-7-1 record during her senior season. She is a two-time captain and was named offensive MVP at Fountain Valley. Wilson was named All-League and is a four-year member of the Honor Roll.

Westminster completed the 2009 season with a 9-10-1 record and advanced to the Frontier Conference championship game. Sophomores Corie Walch and Dayna Winter-Nolte were each named All-Conference and three Griffins were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes.
