Golfers Complete Regular Season

LEWISTON, Idaho – The Westminster men's and women's golf teams completed the 2010 regular season at the third Frontier Conference event of the season on Tuesday. The men finished in sixth place overall while the women posted a seventh place finish.

The Westminster men finished with a three-round score of 1,038. They shot 339-361-338 at the event and were one stroke behind Montana Western for fifth position. Matt Hardy led the way for the Griffins with a 79-85-77 for a total score of 241. Bryce Till shot a 244 while Skyler Bloxham and Matthew Van Wagoner shot 272 and 281 respectively.

Lewis-Clark State won the team event with a score of 885. Connor McCracken from LC State used a final round 70 to claim medalist honors at the event. He also claimed the Frontier Conference regular season title with the victory.

On the women's side, Westminster shot 443-439-421 over the three rounds for a total score of 1,303. Chloe McClintick led the Griffins with a career-best 236 which was anchored by a career-best final round of 77. She finished tied for second in the individual rankings at the event. Shonti Breisch shot 106-103-105 for a 314 final score. Regan Lelli shot a 321 in her first career event while Jacqueline Graham shot a 432.

Rocky Mountain won the women's team title with a 316-326-329=971. They also claimed the regular season Frontier Conference title and earned the top seed in the conference championship. Jennifer Orchard from Rocky won the medalist honors with her final score of 234.

Westminster now gets ready for the Frontier Conference Championship on April 26 and 27 in Missoula, Montana. The tournament will be played at Larchmont Golf Course and is a single elimination bracket with the opening round and semi-finals taking place on the 26th. The championship match will be a 36-hole event on the 27th. The bracket will feature the No. 1 seed facing the No. 8 seed, No. 2 against No. 7, and so forth. The pairings for the event will be announced later this week.
