The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the Scholar team awards for the 2009-10 season on Tuesday and all nine of Westminster’s NAIA teams made the list. The nine teams making the list are the most in school history.

The Westminster men’s soccer team released the schedule for 2010 this afternoon and head coach Chris Dorich has put together a challenging one. The Griffins will face six teams that qualified for the 2009 NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship, including four that advanced to the final site of the tournament.

The Westminster men’s soccer team has added five student-athletes for the 2010 season. Head coach Chris Dorich announced on Tuesday that Max Bell, Jordan Conroy, Arshia Dezham, Bryan Rucklos, and Matt Werner have all signed a Frontier Conference letter of intent to join the Griffins in the fall of 2010.

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that a total of 256 men’s soccer student-athletes have been named 2009 Daktronics-NAIA Men’s Soccer Scholar-Athletes. Of that group, Westminster placed 10 student-athletes on the list. That matched Goshen College for the most of any institution.

The 2009 Unaffiliated Conference All-Conference Team was announced on Wednesday and Westminster placed four players on the squad. The Griffins were represented by Dennis Sellis, Daniel Duke, Val Campbell, and Spencer Luczak.

The Westminster men’s soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision against Great Falls at the Unaffiliated Conference Tournament on Friday afternoon. Great Falls got a goal from Ivan Valencia in the 43rd minute to help No. 3 seed Great Falls knock off No. 2 seed Westminster.

Tysen Gehring scored in the 107th minute to give the Westminster men’s soccer team a 2-1 win in double overtime against Adams State on Sunday afternoon. Westminster dominated the action much of the day, but struggled to finish opportunities.
