The Westminster women’s basketball team heads to Jackson, Tennessee for the Jackson Rotary Classic. The Griffins will face three top-10 teams in three days, starting against No. 1 Union (Tenn.) on Thursday, November 19. That is followed with a Friday, November 20 game against No. 9 Lambuth.

The No. 8 Westminster men’s basketball team couldn’t hold a 15-point second half lead, and lost to No. 3 Fresno Pacific 87-85 in double overtime on Saturday night at the Las Vegas Classic. Westminster (1-3) didn’t make a field goal over the final 3:56 of the second overtime, yet had a chance to win thanks to 6-of-9 shooting from the free throw line in the second extra period.

The Westminster women’s basketball team suffered a 73-63 loss against No. 18 Westmont on Saturday night in the Behnken Field House. Westminster (3-2) struggled early, and then couldn’t hold on once they fought back. Westmont (3-0) held off the Griffins by going 16-of-21 at the charity stripe in the second half.

Westminster (3-1) trailed for much of the night, and Jessop’s freebies gave the Griffins their first lead since the 18:35 mark of the second half.

Sara Brunner and Jamie Elenbaas combined for 30 kills to help Rocky Mountain College sweep Westminster College in match two of the Holiday Inn Express Frontier Conference Volleyball Tournament on Friday afternoon at the Lewis-Clark State College Activity Center. The fourth-seeded Bears knocked off the fifth-seeded Griffins 25-19, 25-18, 25-21.

The Westminster men’s soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision against Great Falls at the Unaffiliated Conference Tournament on Friday afternoon. Great Falls got a goal from Ivan Valencia in the 43rd minute to help No. 3 seed Great Falls knock off No. 2 seed Westminster.
