At the recent NAIA-SIDA Convention held in Atherton, California, the annual publication award winner were announced and the online home of the Griffins was selected as the top outsourced web site in the NAIA. There were a total of 38 sites nominated and WestminsterGriffins.com was selected as the best.

The Westminster women’s volleyball team released the schedule for 2010 on Wednesday afternoon. The team will participate in two tournaments including playing host to the season opening Tournament of Champions head coach Kim Norman said.

The Westminster men’s soccer team released the schedule for 2010 this afternoon and head coach Chris Dorich has put together a challenging one. The Griffins will face six teams that qualified for the 2009 NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship, including four that advanced to the final site of the tournament.

The final results of the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings were released by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) this week and Westminster College finished 118th overall. A total of 195 NAIA programs were ranked in the standings that rewards teams based on their finish in the postseason of sports that the NAIA sponsors a championship.

This spring semester 217 student-athletes at Westminster College that make up 15 intercollegiate teams achieved high academic marks in the classroom. The group combined for an overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.38, 14 of those student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 and 69 student-athletes posted a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

The Westminster women’s lacrosse team has signed Alexandrea Ferdig to a letter of intent to join the Griffins next season. Ferdig is the first recruit to sign with Westminster for the 2011 season and she will enroll at Westminster in the fall of 2010.

The Westminster men’s basketball team has added two more players for the 2010-11 season head coach Tommy Connor announced this afternoon. Josh Schouman and Adam Egan each signed a Frontier Conference letter of intent to join the Griffins for next season.

The Westminster men’s golf team had two members be named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete on Thursday. Bryce Till and Skyler Bloxham were each named a Scholar Athlete by the NAIA and were the only two that made the list from the Frontier Conference.

The Westminster women’s soccer team has signed three student-athletes from the state of Utah to a Frontier Conference letter of intent head coach Tony LeBlanc announced this afternoon. Jessica Harris, Claire Huntsberger, and Sadie Young all signed to join the Griffins for the 2010 season bringing the total of new recruits for next season to eight.

5.24.10 | Men's Lacrosse
The MCLA announced the 2010 National Championship All-Tournament teams on Monday and Westminster had two representatives. Matt Lambourne and Dallas McLellan were each named to the Division 2 All-Tournament team. Lambourne was named to the team at defense while McLellan was the top goalie.
