Westminster freshman guard Nicole Yazzie was named the Frontier Conference Player of the Week on Monday. This is the second consecutive week Yazzie has earned the honor and this is the fifth time this season a Griffins has claimed the award.

Frontier Conference Playoffs Begin Against Eighth-Seeded Great Falls

The Westminster women’s basketball begins the 2010 Frontier Conference Tournament on Tuesday, March 2 after they clinched the regular season championship last Saturday. The Griffins open the postseason as the top seed in the tournament and welcome eighth-seeded Great Falls to the Behnken Field House. Tipoff of the opening round game is slated for 6 p.m.

The Westminster women’s basketball team rallied from 10 points down in the first half to defeat No. 12 Lewis-Clark State 82-77 on Saturday night. The win gives No. 11 Westminster (24-5, 13-1) a second consecutive outright Frontier Conference championship and secures home court advantage throughout the upcoming Frontier Conference Tournament.
