Recapping the USCSA National Championships

WINTER PARK, Colo. – The Westminster women's alpine ski team came away with the USCSA National Championship in the first year of the program. Westminster won both the Giant Slalom and the Slalom team events to take the team championship with two points. Sierra Nevada placed second with four points. Kendall Brown of Westminster won the individual National Championship with a combined score of 27.90. Wiktoria Glowczynski was fourth overall and Melissa Gill finished 11th.

Westminster won the Giant Slalom with a combined time of 3:92.52, just 0.16 second ahead of Sierra Nevada. Kendall Brown paced the Griffins with her time of 2:08.59, placing second overall. Ulrikke Nicolaisen finished sixth with a time of 2:11.65 and Wiktoria Glowczynski was 11th with her time of 2:12.28.

Westminster won the Slalom competition with the combined time of 2:54.76 which was over four second better than second place finisher Sierra Nevada. Brown led the way for the Griffins with her second place finish at 1:22.60. Glowczynski finished third at 1:24.84 and Perrine Voisin Chappaz placed seventh at 1:27.32.

The Westminster men's team finished third in the combined results behind Colby-Sawyer College and Sierra Nevada at the USACA National Championships. The three teams earned five team points each, but Colby-Sawyer won with 65 individual points. Sierra Nevada had 70 individual points and Westminster had 76. Lorentz Gedde-Dahl won the individual championship thanks to winning each individual event.

In the Giant Slalom event, Westminster finished second as a team with a time of 3:57.11. They were paced by a first lace finish from Gedde-Dahl and his time of 1:56.50. Zach Collins' time of 1:58.66 was good enough for fifth and Ryan Donovan took 16th with a time of 2:01.95

The Griffins took third in the Slalom competition with a time of 3:13.28. Gedde-Dahl won the individual event with his two-run time of 1:36.16. Donovan placed 15th with a time of 1:43.66 and Collins was 43rd with his time of 1:54.46.
