After a stunning performance last season, Valan Campbell is gearing up for a whole new schedule in 2009. In 2008, Campbell played a major role in crucial wins throughout the season for the Griffins. His aggressive style of goalkeeping has been responsible for many world class saves when the score lines were tight last season. The thing he enjoys most about playing with the Griffins is the high level of play that is expected from all the players on the field.

Campbell is looking forward to a much more challenging schedule this upcoming season and is going to be very busy protecting the net. He is very excited for this new challenge, because he believes it will help him to improve throughout the season so he can continue playing soccer at the semi-professional level.

When Campbell is not making great saves in the net, he is usually spending time with his girlfriend or playing water polo. He plans to graduate with a major in accounting and eventually a Masters degree in business administration. Campbell's favorite athlete is Kasey Keller of Seattle Sounders FC, and his favorite book is Where the Red Fern Grows.
