SALT LAKE CITY – The United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) released the 2010 Academic All-Americans on Monday and the list included 15 student-athletes from the Westminster ski and snowboard teams. The alpine ski teams posted nine Academic All-Americans wile the snowboard teams had six.
The men's alpine ski team placed Jens Aune and Jurgen Karner on the first team. Lorentz Gedde-Dahl and Marc Perathoner were named to the second team. Jacob Ringbrant was named honorable mention.
The women's alpine ski team had Kendall Brown and Ulrikke Nicolaisen make the first team while Maria Franschini and Perrine Voisin were named honorable mention.
The men's snowboard squad placed Robin Hill and Zach Lancaster on the second team with Mark Speicher being named honorable mention.
From women's snowboard, Desiree Diselrod and Claire Gentile were named to the second team with Hallie Beaver being named honorable mention.
To be a First Team Academic All-American, student-athletes carry a GPA between 3.8 and 4.0. To make the second team the student-athletes have a GPA between 3.5 and 3.79. Those with a GAP between 3.3 and 3.49 are named honorable mention.
