Women’s Lacrosse Completes Regular Season with Two Road Games

SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster women's lacrosse team concludes the 2010 regular season with two games in Colorado this weekend. The Griffins visit Denver for a games against Colorado School of Mines and the University of Denver. Both games will be played on Saturday, April 10 with the Mines game at noon and the Denver game at 5:30 p.m.

Westminster hits the road at 4-7 on the season, but they have lost four consecutive games. The Griffins are averaging 9.6 goals per game and have scored on 51% of their total shot attempts. They have collected 276 ground balls and won 94 draw controls. Defensively they allow 11.6 goals per game and opponents score on 55% of their 231 total shots. Westminster opponents have won 99 draw controls and collected 151 ground balls.

Kaicee Beal leads all Griffins with 46 points behind a school record 40 goals. Beal has two game-winning goals while collecting 35 ground balls. She has four games this season with at least five goals and she scored four goals in four other games.

Sage West has totaled 37 points behind 18 goals and a team-best 19 assists. Lindsey Mark is second on the team with 21 goals and is third with 23 points. Erika Rebentisch has 13 points with five goals and eight assists. Jessie Mulvey has posted 75 saves between the pipes with a 36.4% save percentage.

The RMWLL Championship game is scheduled for Saturday, April 17. Brigham Young, Colorado State, and Denver are all in the mix for a berth in the championship game through Wednesday. The WDIA National Championship will take place on May 6-8 with the field being announced tentatively on April 20.
