SALT LAKE CITY - This spring semester 217 student-athletes at Westminster College that make up 15 intercollegiate teams achieved high academic marks in the classroom. The group combined for an overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.38, 14 of those student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 and 69 student-athletes posted a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
“I would like to recognize and congratulate our student-athletes on their academic accomplishments this past semester,” Westminster Director of Athletics
Shay Wyatt said. “We are very proud of our student-athletes and how they manage their academic priorities and continue to maintain the academic standards set forth by our institution.”
The 3.38 GPA is up from a 3.19 during the fall semester. In total, Westminster had 27 student-athletes recognized as a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete during the 2009-10 season along with 15 more being named an Academic All-American by the USCSA.
