SALT LAKE CITY – Two Westminster women's soccer players were named Frontier Conference Player of the Week for their performance against Rocky Mountain College last weekend.
Megan Maldonado was named the Offensive Player of the Week and
Lindsay Bekken earned the Defensive Player of the Week award.
Maldonado, a 5-7, junior forward, from Salt Lake City, Utah. was named the league's women's offensive player of the week. Maldonado scored the game winning goal in the Griffins 2-1 win over Rocky Mountain. This is the first time this season that Maldonado has received the award. Also nominated, Jessica Valenzuela of the University of Great Falls and Hannah Young of Carroll College.
Bekken, a 5-7 freshman goalie, from Spokane, Washington, was named defensive player of the week. Westminster was 1-0 for the week with a 2-1 win over Rocky Mountain. Bekken allowed one goal and had one save. This marks the first time that Bekken has been named player of the week. Also nominated, D.J. Ellis of the University of Great Falls and Katie Martin of Carroll College.
