SALT LAKE CITY – Frontier Conference commissioner Kent Paulson announced the 2009 all-conference women's soccer team, as well as individual award winners today. Westminster placed
Dayna Winter-Nolte on the team at goal keeper and
Corie Walch at midfielder. This is the first all-conference recognition for each player.
Winter-Nolte, a 5-6 sophomore from San Diego, California, finished the season with a 1.80 goals against average and five shutouts. She had a run of three consecutive shutouts in September. Winter-Nolte recorded 56 saves during the year and is the school's career leader in saves with 125.
Walch, a 5-4 sophomore from Salt Lake City, finished fourth on the team with eight points. She scored three goals and recorded two assists while playing 1,329 minutes. Walch put seven of her 13 total shots on target. Her 17 career points are the fourth most in school history.
Carroll College's Meghan O'Connell was named Player of the Year and Carroll coach Dave Thorvilson was named Coach of the Year.
Carroll College led the all-conference team with six selections followed by Rocky Mountain College with five, Westminster College with two and the University of Great Falls with one.
