SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster women's volleyball team has added three more players for the 2010 season. Emily Atkinson, Clotile Harris, and Kelci Simmons have all signed a Frontier Conference letter of intent to join the Griffins next season head coach Kim Norman announced today.
Atkinson will join the Griffins from Cottonwood High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. The 5-8 setter helped her team to four region championships at Cottonwood and a state championship in 2006. Atkinson was named First Team All-State in 2008 and 2009 and was a Volleyball.com Top 100 Senior. She was named Academic All-State as a senior and is on the Honor Roll.
Harris comes to Westminster from Hunter High School in West Valley City, Utah. The 6-1 outside hitter is a three-time letter winner and was named First Team All-State as a senior. Her team earned a share of the region championship last season and Harris was named an All-Region performer.
Simmons will become a Griffin from Desert Hills High School in Washington, Utah. The 5-11 opposite hitter was named First Team All-Region as a senior after leading her team to second place finish in the region and into the quarterfinals of the state tournament.
