SALT LAKE CITY – The Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference announced the 2010 Division II All-Conference award recipients today and the Westminster men's lacrosse team had 11 representatives. The Griffins had four players named to the second and third teams respectively along with three more players named honorable mention. The 11 recipients is the most in a single season for the Griffins in the four years of the program.
Matt Lambourne,
Dallas McLellan,
Marshall Serzen, and
Jacob Wayman were all named to the second team.
Josh Condas,
Brett Everill,
Gian Sexsmith, and Ben Wright all made the third team with
Brett Bird,
Chase Lowenstein, and
Kellen Lynn being named honorable mention. This is the third all-conference recognition for McLellan and the second for Condas and Wright.
Tyler Spendlove of Utah Valley was named the RMLC DII Offensive Player of the Year while Ryan Elliott of Northern Colorado was the Defensive Player of the Year. Utah Valley head coach Kevin Perkins was named the Coach of the Year.
Westminster is coming off a fourth consecutive trip to the RMLC championship game and earned an at-large invite to the MCLA National Championship. They open against Elon on Tuesday, May 11 at 1 p.m. on the outer fields at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Denver, Colorado.
