SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster men's basketball team has signed Brad Brown to a Frontier Conference letter of intent, head coach
Adam Hiatt announced toady. Brown becomes the second player to sign with Hiatt for the upcoming season.
“I am extremely excited to become part of the Westminster family,” Brown said of joining the Griffins. “I look forward to working with the team to win championships.”
Brown, a 6-7 forward from Ornon, Minn., is transferring to Westminster after spending one season at Utah State University. With the Aggies, Brown played in 13 games off the bench and scored six points with one rebound. He shot 1-of-5 from the field and also blocked one shot.
"We are fortunate to have a player of Brad's ability and versatility in our program,” Hiatt stated. “He will be as skilled a player as we have on our roster, but more importantly, his length and defensive versatility address specific needs that we had. Brad's time at Utah State will be invaluable to him. I expect him to contribute immediately."
Brown graduated from Orono Senior High School and then spent time at prep school with the University School of Jackson in Tenn. With Jackson, he scored 13 points per game while grabbing five rebounds and dishing 2.5 assists.
Westminster is coming off a 21-9 season and an 8-6 record in the Frontier Conference. Hiatt begins his first season as the head coach of the Griffins after being named the head coach on April 8.
