WHITEFISH, Mont. – Frontier Conference commissioner Kent Paulson announced the 2012 Men's Soccer All-Conference team on Sunday. The Westminster College men's soccer team had four players recognized by the conference.
Jordan Conroy,
Gabe Gonzalez,
Bryan Rucklos and
Damir Sabanovic were each named to the all-conference team from Westminster. This is the first all-conference recognition for each of the four players.
Conroy, a junior from Plattsburgh, N.Y., was named to the team as a midfielder. In 18 starts this season, Conroy tallied one assist. He attempted six shots and had three on goal in 1,306 minutes played.
Gonzalez, a senior from Woodinville, Wash., made the team at midfield/forward. He finished the season with two goals and one assist for five points. Gonzalez took 27 shots and had 11 shots on goal.
Rucklos, a junior from Boise, Idaho, was named as a midfielder/defender. He started all 18 games during the season and led the team with 1,540 minutes played. Rucklos scored one goal on eight shots. His lone goal was a game-winner. He anchored the Westminster defense that allowed 1.28 goals per game.
Sabanovic, a senior from Salt lake City, was named at goalkeeper. He started 13 games and finished the year with a 1.37 goals-against-average. Sabanovic recorded 49 saves with a 73.1 save percentage. He had a 5-5-2 record with four shutouts.
Westminster completed the season with a 10-6-2 overall record. They went 1-2-1 in Frontier Conference games and were 8-1 at home this season. This was the first 10-win season since 2009.
