SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster College men's basketball team has signed Tallon Robertson to a Frontier Conference letter of intent, head coach
Adam Hiatt announced toady. Robertson becomes the second student-athlete to sign with Westminster for the 2012-13 season.
Robertson will come to Westminster after spending one year at Western Wyoming Community College. He also played at Dixie State College during his freshman year after playing his high school ball at Pleasant Grove High School. Robertson will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Griffins.
"I am very excited to have Tallon join our program,” Hiatt stated. “With three bigs graduating this year it was imperative to bring in an immediate impact player. Tallon is very gifted offensively, particularly finishing around the rim. His quickness and leaping ability make him a tough cover. I expect Tallon to contribute right away."
Robertson averaged 12 points and six rebounds per game at Western Wyoming. He was named to the WCCAC all-defensive team that season. Robertson was an All-State and All-Region performer at Pleasant Grove where he averaged 20 points and eight rebounds per game during his senior season.
“It is a great privilege to become part of such an outstanding program,” Robertson said. “I am looking forward to the coming years as a Griffin.”
Westminster is coming off 21-11 season that saw them advance to the semi-finals of the Frontier Conference Tournament. It was the 10th consecutive 20-win season for the Griffins and the 11th since the program was reinstated in 1999.
