Complete List
SALT LAKE CITY – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that 67 Division I men's basketball players have been named 2009-10 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Westminster College (Utah), a member of the Frontier Conference, leads the way with six selections.
Weston Anderson,
Brandon Buford,
Chris Cassity,
Tanner Gregory,
Conner Nielsen, and
Ben Walker were the six Griffins named a Scholar Athlete. Westminster has now had 39 players named to the NAIA Scholar Athlete list in 11 seasons under head coach Tommy Connor. The six this season is also the most a Westminster team has put on the list all-time.
This is a second selection for Anderson and Nielsen after each made the list last season. Buford, Cassity, Gregory, and Walker all received the recognition for the first time in their careers.
Nominated by each institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify.
